Moving the Goalposts

Looking at Scottish football grounds over the years

About

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve been going to matches in Scotland and elsewhere since 1966 (a bad year to start, but never mind!). I’ve got a huge collection of old scans and digital photos which probably need shared before my time on the planet is up. That means anything from national stadiums right down to non-League.

Just to be clear: I’m not a groundhopper. I’m a fair old age so I’ve visited loads of grounds. I’ve visited many of them multiple times and I’ve started this blog to show my affection for them. I can’t stand it when people say they’ve ‘done’ a ground. Stick to trainspotting then.

There’s an unsubstantiated rumour that I watched Rangers when I was young and daft so they might get the occasional mention, but that’s firmly in the past. I enjoyed it at the time but my teams now are ICT and Whitehill Welfare. And Scotland of course.

I’ve already got one or two web pages of my own for publishing other stuff (This one for my photos), and I have run the Caley Nostalgia Page since 2000. But for football grounds I’m going to try one of these blog things.

So: a retro theme with the emphasis on the photos. Let’s see how it goes (20/1/2016).

  1. A truly wonderful site and, as someone who has always fancied visiting the Faroes, I’ll be taking notes on that section. Especially loved the Lewis and Harris chapter as well.
